O&M of the LNG terminal Station of Al Zour, Kuwait – KIPIC

In October 2020, DESFA was awarded the Operation and Maintenance of the LNGI Terminal in Kuwait Project. The Contract was signed with KIPIC in December 2020, while commencement day was 24th of May 2021 and the commencement of the 1st O&M year was on the 1st of May 2022.
- The LNGI Terminal in Al-Zour is considered the world’s largest capacity LNG storage & regasification green field project.
- The Plant consists of 8 LNG tanks of 223.000 m3 LNG each, with a total capacity of 1,784 million m3 LNG with a regasification capacity of 28.5 bcm/yr.
- The construction cost is estimated at an impressive $3.6 billion while it includes onshore (storage & regasification plant) & offshore marine facilities

Maintenance Agreement for TAP

DESFA and TAP entered into a “Maintenance Agreement for TRANS ADRIATIC PIPELINE PROJECT” on the 18th of June 2018 which is expected to be concluded by the 31st of May 2025. Through this agreement, DESFA undertook the maintenance of the TAP pipeline in Greece offering the below services:

Contract Administration and Supervision of works on construction of the gas interconnection pipeline North Macedonia – Greece, on the territory of N. Macedonia

In September 2023, DESFA was awarded following an open procedure launched by NOMAGAS and supervised by EIB a supervision contract for the construction of the North Macedonia part of the Gas Interconnector Greece-North Macedonia (IGNM), a 68 km gas pipeline which will be part of the 123 km gas interconnector between N. Macedonia and Greece.
DESFA will act as FIDIC Supervision Contractor and will provide management services to NOMAGAS related to contract & operational management, technical, administrative, and legal supervision on the Project construction and commissioning, as well as technical & administrative support services during the phase of selection of the EPC contractor.
Being assigned these services gives DESFA the opportunity to ensure enhanced end to end supervision of the construction of the N. Macedonia pipeline securing where needed alignment between the two projects (Greek and N. Macedonia part) while it is also indicative of the potential to expand the non regulated services portfolio.
